What Makes FFU Different?
Many people have tried financial classes before, only to feel disappointed by vague advice, confusing terminology, or instructors who don’t understand their unique challenges.
FFU isn’t just another financial literacy platform. It’s a comprehensive system designed for real results.

Turning Knowledge Into Power
Too many people are fighting the same financial battles their parents did—living check to check, struggling with debt, or feeling stuck when it comes to home ownership and business growth. It’s not because they lack ambition; it’s because they were never given the tools to succeed.
FFU exists to change that.
We believe that financial education is more than just numbers—it’s about breaking cycles, creating options, and securing a future that reflects the vision God has for your life. Through practical, step-by-step guidance, FFU helps college students, working mothers, and future entrepreneurs take control of their finances without confusion, fear, or overwhelm.
Money should be a resource, not a roadblock.

LaRese Purnell -
Meet the Founder
A Mission Rooted in Experience
From Experiencing Financial Hardship to Empowering Others
LaRese Purnell didn’t just learn about financial hardship—he lived it. Growing up, money wasn’t just tight—it was unpredictable. Bus tickets from kind-hearted strangers helped his family get to school and back from the shelter. He’s seen both sides of the financial struggle: how financial hardship trapped families in survival mode—and how the right knowledge could set them free.
LaRese didn’t just want to escape financial instability—he wanted to change the story for others. He committed himself to learning, building, and giving back, earning several advanced degrees and certifications, and launched a successful accounting firm that has now impacted thousands of businesses across the country.
But something was missing. While wealth-building advice was everywhere, the people who needed it most—college students, single mothers, and first-time homebuyers—were alone, left to figure it all out by themselves.
That’s why he created Financial Foundation University (FFU)—a movement, not just a platform. No confusing jargon. No overpriced coaching. Just real financial strategies that make stability, homeownership, and entrepreneurship possible.
For LaRese, this work is more than numbers—it’s purpose. & He made God a promise: If You bless me, I will bless others. FFU is that promise in action, proving that financial freedom isn’t just for the wealthy—it’s for the willing.
